Edition: 2026
Measured on: 1 October 2026
Pages measured: 125

The summary by sector

For each sector, we kept the home pages that could be measured, and the weights given here are those of the page on load, before any scrolling, because that is the one the score compares. The best quarter is the weight below which one site in four falls, the median is that of the middle site, and the whole page column also counts what the page downloads when it is scrolled.

Weight and score of the measured pages, by sector
Sector	Measured	Best quarter	Median weight	Whole page	Median score	Letters

Small businesses and freelancers	5	985 KB	1.2 MB	1.6 MB	75	B 4, C 1

A sector in which many sites block robots leans towards those that accepted the measurement, which is why the column of measured sites matters as much as the figures that follow it.

The distribution of letters

The letter comes from the score out of 100, from A for the best to F for the lowest, and each bar shows how the measured pages of a sector are split.

The method in brief

Each site is represented by a single page, its home page, which Grammage opens in a real browser, in a single pass (this is the fast mode) and with the mobile profile, that of a phone. The figures cover what is downloaded during this visit, and the score is that of the notation-2026.3 method, with the grammage-1 protocol, so the same as for an ordinary audit.

The measurement dates from 1 October 2026 and was made with versions 0.43.0 to 0.75.0 of the tool. Since it is limited to one pass, it can move from one day to the next, especially for pages that change by themselves, with ads or randomly drawn content. How bytes become carbon and then a score is described on the method page.

Are you one of these sites?

What appears here is the measurement of a single home page, on a given date, so it can be lower or higher than the one we would get the next day, or on another page of your site. If you want us to measure your site again, or if a figure looks wrong to you, write to us with the domain concerned, and we will redo the measurement. When it changes, the correction is noted in the edition with its date.

Grammage brings together in a single tool the audit in a real browser, the code analysis in the CI/CD and a signed result that anyone can verify.
